Receiver repeatedly showing boot and crc on the front panel
« on: November 14, 2013, 06:46:03 pm »

Symptoms: During the start up process the receiver performs some checks and will attempt to start up but will then restart and will continue to do show boot and then crc and with restart again.

Solution: The boot/crc loop is a result of a short-circuit on the LNB cable or dish. It can also happen if an incorrect signal is sent for example a RF signal instead of the signal from the satellite dish. Do the following:

1. Turn the power off to the receiver and remove the cable attached to the "LNB Input'.
2. Restart the receiver to see if it will restart. Note, you will not get any signal as the signal cable has been taken off but this exercise will prove that the receiver is not faulty.
3. If the receiver does start up normally, then check your cabling from the satellite dish to the receiver including the LNB on the dish to fix the problem.
