DTVS-DSR2 / LATEST SOFTWARE FOR DTVS-DSR2 Version A3VST18_1E_021

We are releasing software for the DTVS-DSR2 MyFreeview receivers for those customers who would like to load it.

Changes included in this software release:

Modifications Done
1. Improvements to channel tuning. Prime, TV3 etc..


The firmware can be downloaded from:

Instructions on how to install the software are below:

1. Download and extract the contents to the root directory of a USB memory key. Extracted contents will be in the directory \DTVS-DSR2.
2. Turn the Power OFF using the power switch at the back of your DTVS-DSR2
3. Insert the USB memory key in the USB slot at the back marked "UPGRADE ONLY"
4. Turn the power on to DTVS-DSR2 while repeatedly pressing the MENU button on the DTVS-DSR2 Remote control.
5. The USB Upgrade screen will appear and the software will begin updating
6. Once the upgrade is complete, the receiver will restart.
7. Your DTVS-DSR2 is now upgraded. Remove the USB memory key and begin using your DTVS-DSR2.

Vantage HD6000T/NZ / Vantage HD6000T/NZ - Channel Files

Users of the Vantage HD6000T/NZ may experience tuning issues on some multiplexers. The following channels files can be used to force load channels on the Vantage HD6000T/NZ. Please ensure that you have software version 2.59T loaded on your receiver.

Select the file that matches the transmitter site from which the signal is received on your Vantage HD6000T/NZ and follow the instructions:

Transmitters: Parahaki, Te Aroha, Napier Airport, Mt. Taranaki, Wharite, Kaukau, Sugarloaf, Mt. Cargill, Forest Hill

Some channels may not work as they may not be available in the region. Please inform us via email if the files do
not work for you or channels are missing.

After downloading, please unzip the contents of the file so that you get a file with a ".si" extension.

Instructions on how to load:


1) Press the Menu button
2) Navigate through the menu and file "Delete All Channels" and press OK
3) Select "yes" to confirm you want to delete all channels
4) Insert USB stick containing the channel data
5) Navigate to USB1
6) Locate the channel data file and while highlighted press the OK button to upgrade
7) Channels will be loaded

DTVS-SMART1 / Remote not responding

If your remote has stopped responding it may be possible that RF paring is lost. You can use the following method to pair the remote again:

1) Restart the unit.
2) Wait till the DTVS logo shows.
3) Press the paring buttons simultaneously (bottom left and bottom right buttons)
4) The red light on the remote will flash and then you should see the receiver responding
5) Release the buttons

You can also use this method for replacement remotes or additional remotes.

DTVS-SMART1 / Accessing content on a NAS drive

The media player on the DTVS-Smart1 is not designed to access content on a NAS drive. However it is possible to access a NAS drive via a file manager application. You can load a "File Manager" application like "File Manager HD" and connect to the NAS drive. Once connected you can click on the file you want to play via the media player.

DTVS-SMART1 / Sideloading XBMC

Some users have been attempting to sideload XBMC on the DTVS-Smart1. A compiled version of XBMC is available for the DTVS-Smart1 which is available via the "DefaultApps" applications. Please load this version instead of one from the internet. To load:

1. Go to Applications list (Green button)
2. Select "DefaultApps". Clear any advertising banners that appear.
3. Select XBMC download
4. Repeat step 3 if download fails.

DTVS-SMART1 / White light blinking but unit does not start up

Some users have advised their unit not starting up and the white light keeps on blinking. The cause appears to be related with a corrupt cache left by some application. Please do the following:

1. Pull power plug out.
2. Put power plug in and immediately keep the RED coloured button pressed.
3. After a few seconds you should see a blue recovery screen appear.
4. Select Factory Reset.
5. Select Clear Cache data
6. Select Yes to confirm you want to clear the cache data.
7. The receiver will clear the cache data and will restart.

DTVS-DSR2 / Retuning Channels - TV3 and some channels missing

After resetting and re-tuning, your receiver may not collect TV3 and some other channels. You can upgrade your receiver to the latest software which will collect all the channels or carry out the following manual tuning process to tune the channels:

1. Carry out a factory reset ( Menu/System Installation/Factory Default)
2. Start the auto tune (Select your location and press OK)
3. Press the OK button once the scanning reached frequency 12421 and save the results.
4. Press Menu and go to System Installation/installation/satellite scan/TP List
5. Select the TP with frequency 12456 (Freeview2) and press Scan (red)
6. Choose Network search ON, Search Type FTA and press OK.
7. The scan will go through the following transponders: 12456, 12483, 12519.
8. After 12519 is scanned press the OK button and save the results.
9. All channels will be tuned in.

Vantage HD6000T/NZ / HD6000T/NZ Final Software

Please ensure you do a factory default after installing new software. Please note performing a factory default will NOT delete any information off the HDD.

Steps for updating your HD6000T/NZ software.

1) Download the above software to somewhere easily accessible.
2) Locate the software, double click to open the file then "Drag and Drop" file DTVS_025900.dlp onto your Flash drive or External HDD.
    Alternatively you and "Right Click" the DTVS_025900.zip folder and choose extract files then choose the location of your Flash Drive or External
    HDD.
3) Attach the device with the software loaded to the receiver and wait for the "Media is Connected" prompt to appear.
4) Press the "MENU" button then press the left arrow button to navigate to "MULTIMEDIA". Press the down arrow twice and press "OK" on USB 1
5) Locate the file named DTVS_025900.dlp and press OK, it will then ask you to confirm.

You must perform a factory default after every software upgrade or downgrade.

Steps for performing this are listed below.

1) Press the "MENU" button
2) Scroll down to "Default Setting" and press OK you will need to enter the default password of "0000".
3) Choose "Factory Defaults" and press OK
4) The receiver will restart and then will allow you to carry out the initial installation and retune the channels.

Vantage HD6000T/NZ / Lost channels after changes on 1 May 2014

After the changes on 1 May 2014, the Vantage receivers may not tune some channels. We have an alternate solution and will post files on this website which will allow loading of channels via USB.

DTVS-SMART1 / How to clear the cache data

You can clear the cache data using the following procedure:

1) Power on the receiver and keep the "red" button pressed.
2) The "system recovery utility" screen will appear.
3) Select "2. Factory Reset"
4) Select "1. Erase cache data"

DO NOT TRY DELETING OTHER ITEMS SHOWN IN THE MENU.

Erasing the cache data can help with any issues during starting up and also connectivity issues.
